Principal's Corner
Dear Parents,
I would like to pass along a heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make last Thursday’s PTO sponsored Senior Luncheon a big success. The seniors were so complimentary about the students, the food and caring atmosphere. In particular, I’d like to thank Melissa Wall for coordinating the event, a host of parent volunteers for set-up and service, Mary Russell for preparing the delicious meal, the fifth grade for leading school tours and serving the seniors, and the many student performers who shared their talents. It truly was a great day!
Did you know next week is Staff Appreciation Week? It’s a great time to thank your child’s teacher or a staff member for all the wonderful work they do to support and nurture your child as a learner. No one is more appreciative of the EKES staff than me. They make coming to school each day a pleasure, and I am honored to work with such a fine group of professionals.
Our fourth grade students completed the first section of the NECAP Science Assessment yesterday and will continue working on the test for the remainder of this week. If you are the parent of a fourth grader, please be sure your child is well rested and has a good breakfast before coming to school each day so they are able to give their best on the assessment. Thank you!
You won’t want to miss the K-3 Spring Concert scheduled for Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 pm. Keep an eye out for a flyer with details about the evening in the next few days.
Have a great week!
