4th Grade Teacher - Mrs. Ward
I love to do hands-on, real world projects that inspire students to find out who they are and what they are good at, pouring that knowledge into their learning. Inspiring and motivating young minds to be curious and courageous is what I love to do most.
This is now my 9th year of teaching fourth graders in southern NH. I earned my undergraduate degree in Childhood Studies and a K-8 Teaching Certificate from Plymouth State University. My education continued at PSU as I was teaching full time and earned my Masters in Special Education. I am a life long learner and am looking forward to declaring a new masters program in the area of reading later this year.
Outside of the classroom, I am a wife and mother of two adventurous children. We love exploring the great outdoors around our home in Nottingham, NH. Our focus lately has been on the health and happiness of our family. Between family workouts at the YMCA in Exeter, eating healthy foods from local sources, and listening to podcasts on healthy living, we have created a buzz about health and happiness that we love to share.
In our classroom we will stay active, set goals, and talk about having a "growth mindset." I believe whole -heartedly that growing young minds is a responsibility that we all share and that it does in fact "take a village."
From the very first time that I heard about your community, I have been impressed at the positive responses and genuine first impressions that I have received. It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I join your school family.
